Simple Architecture

Good Mobile Control is the core of Good for Enterprise's simple, yet powerful architecture. The easy to install platform is compatible with existing components, versions of servers and handheld devices. No servers are deployed in the DMZ. No inbound firewall ports are opened. The entire mobile deployment can be easily secured and managed through a single, Web-based interface. Integrated with the Good Network Operations Center (NOC), Good for Enterprise and Good Mobile Control work together to provide end-to-end visibility with the benefits of guaranteed data delivery, simplified operations across different wireless network types, and session resilience between behind-the-firewall applications and mobile devices.

Easy to Implement

The Good server is installed behind a firewall, so the Good Mobile Control console is accessed via any web browser to configure groups, roles and policies. (Alternatively, IT can utilize the system's default policies.) After server installation, IT creates user accounts and provide users with an initial authorization PIN and then users self-provision their device over-the-air. Good Mobile Control automatically pushes the Good client to the device, along with security and management policies and any software specified in the user's policy set. The device is now is now a secure, managed node on the corporate network.

Administration of the entire mobility platform is done through a single web-based console. By utilizing a web-based interface, IT administrators are able to access the management, and reporting functions from any web browser, even from their own mobile device.

Security & Management

Good Mobile Control provides the tools to IT for implementation and enforcement of granular security policies that can be tailored for every user. IT can control such security policies as passwords, access to applications, data encryption, device features as well as remote device lock down or erase, and compliance management. All security and management policies are easily defined and delivered to the device completely over-the-air. As far as device management, Good's policy-set/user group matrix model allows IT the greatest amount of flexibility in setting up groups and policies that best meet the unique needs of any enterprise. Moreover, IT can group users based on functional areas, yet administer a heterogeneous set of policies across the group.

Self Service

IT Admins can empower their end users and reduce IT helpdesk costs while still ensuring the highest levels of security that Good for Enterprise provides for iPhone, Android and other Smartphones. GMC Self Service options allow IT Admins to delegate routine mobile device management actions to end users, such as activating a new mobile device, or initiating data wipe, without having to generate an IT support call.
